Investasi Leher keatas untuk Menghadapi Perubahan

Hidup ini penuh perubahan yang abadi hanyalah Tuhan, perubahan itu sendiri dan hukum alam. Cara Mencari uang pun dari jaman ke jaman terus berubah. Sekarang banyak muncul jutawan (dalam US$) baru dari Internet, dari bisnis-bisnis yang belum pernah terdengar sebelumnya.

Dan tidak sedikit orang kaya yang jatuh miskin, atau bahkan orang miskin yang bertambah miskin , karena mereka tidak mau belajar lagi untuk menghadapi perubahan . Dan terus mencari uang dengan cara yang lama , tidak mau berhenti untuk belajar lagi tren saat ini.

Bahkan rumahnya diresmikan oleh dua presiden, yaitu Bu Megawati dan Pak SBY. Pak Lukminto ini saja ingin terus belajar dan belajar, bahkan mengundang saya untuk bicara di pabrik beliau. Begitu juga dengan pak Teguh Kinarto di Surabaya yang punya perusahaan properti, beliau terus belajar supaya anaknya juga terinspirasi untuk terus belajar.

Saya tahu orang miskin merasa selalu tahu segalanya, tidak mau belajar dan selalu punya seribu satu alasan untuk tidak belajar yg akhirnya membuat mereka tidak belajar dan takut berinvestasi. Dan itulah sebabnya mengapa mereka terus miskin, karena tidak dapat melihat peluang , mengalokasikan uangnya, dan berinvestasi dengan baik.

Sedangkan orang kaya selalu ingin terus belajar, bahkan tidak peduli terhadap siapa pun yg mempunyai ide lebih baik daripada dia. Mereka berani membayar untuk belajar, mentraktir orang yang jauh lebih kaya untuk belajar ilmunya. Oleh karena itu dia bertambah kaya karena mengerti pola orang kaya.

Karena itu saya terus mengalokasikan uang, tenaga, pikiran, waktu untuk rutin terus belajar ilmu-ilmu yg terbaik, sehingga saya yakin pasti kaya, sudah kaya dan akan terus luangkan waktu, tenaga, uang, pikiran untuk belajar bisnis, properti, saham, internet dan akan terus belajar apapun yang dapat membuat saya menjadi lebih kaya.

Seberapa cepatkah anda menjadi kaya?

Keterangan :

Jika anda mau membangun rumah maka sebagian orang akan memanggil arsitek dan
arsitek itu bersama anda membuat rencana. Tetapi ketika orang yang sama memulai
membangun kekayaan mereka atau merencanakan masa depan, mereka tidak pernah
mendesain rencana finansial untuk hidup mereka. Mereka tidak mempunyai garis besar
rencana kerja untuk menjadi kaya. Bahkan banyak orang tidak mempunyai rencana,
mereka hanya menjalani hidup saja dan hanya bermimpi sewaktu-waktu mereka akan menjadi kaya.
Banyak juga orang yang menggunakan satu-satunya jurus andalan, yaitu merencanakan
untuk bekerja keras dan mereka tidak pernah kaya. Karena apa yang mereka kerjakan
sekeras apapun memang tidak memungkinkan mereka untuk menjadi kaya.

Contoh, menjadi buruh pabrik atau kuli bangunan, walaupun sekeras apapun mereka bekerja
akan sulit sekali untuk menjadi kaya.

Ada juga orang yang mempunyai rencana yang lambat untuk menjadi kaya, rencana tersebut
yaitu bekerja keras dan menabung. Dengan mengikuti rencana tersebut maka jutaan orang
akan menghabiskan hidupnya dengan memandang keluar jendela dari kereta mereka yang lambat

atau dari mobil mereka yang terjebak dari kemacetan lalu lintas menyaksikan limosin, helikopter,
pesawat jet perusahaan, rumah- rumah mewah.

Dan yang paling menyedihkan ada juga orang yang mempunyai rencana untuk menjadi miskin.
Begitu banyak orang mengucapkan kata-kata seperti ayah miskin Robert Kiyosaki
“Ketika saya pensiun, maka penghasilan saya akan berkurang”. Dengan kata lain mereka
merencanakan untuk bekerja keras seumur hidup hanya untuk menjadi miskin.

“Saya membutuhkan kecepatan.” Kata Tom Cruise dalam Film Top Gun.

Ide bekerja seumur hidup, menabung, dan menaruh uang dalam rekening pensiun merupakan
rencana yang sangat lambat. Rencana ini bagus dan masuk akal oleh 90% orang tetapi bukan
rencana bagi orang yang ingin pensiun muda dan pensiun kaya.

Berikut adalah beberapa ide tentang cara untuk membangun rencana yang lebih cepat:

1. Pilih strategi keluar anda terlebih dahulu . Kita harus mulai dari yang akhir, seperti
yang dikatakan oleh Steven R. Covey dalam bukunya Seven Habits. Jadi kita harus menentukan
dulu umur berapa kita ingin pensiun, berapa banyak uang yang kita miliki saat itu, atau
berapa banyak pasif income kita pada waktu kita pensiun. Kemudian dalam logika saya sendiri maka kita harus;

2. Cari bidang apa yang kita suka atau mungkin kita akan suka yang bisa menghasilkan seperti
yang kita tentukan sebelumnya. Apabila apa yang kita kerjakan sekarang tidak memungkinkan
kita mencapai impian tersebut, Let It Go!

3. Kita cari orang yang sudah berhasil mencapai impian kita untuk diajak kerja sama
atau belajar kepada orang tersebut.

4. Gunakan faktor kali atau leverage.

Maksudnya kita bisa menggunakan RICE (Resources, Ide, Contact, Expertise) dari orang lain.

Sebagai perbandingan Mike Tyson, dia menghasilkan 300 juta USD sewaktu bertinju,
tapi hari ini bangkrut dan masih berhutang 35 juta USD. Maka sebetulnya Mike Tyson
bukan termasuk kaya, termasuk pula di dalam kategori orang yang bukan kaya
adalah orang-orang yang punya penghasilan 1 Juta USD/tahun namun pengeluarannya
1,2 juta USD/tahun.

Pertanyaan penting kali ini adalah:

1.) Bila besok anda berhenti kerja, berapa lama anda dapat bertahan hidup dengan
gaya hidup anda sekarang tanpa harus menjual asset-asset anda?

6 Hal yang Perlu Diperhatikan Sebelum Anda Melaunching Blog

Beberapa waktu lalu, Mas Dafid bertanya apakah blog Dafit Riau sudah siap launching. Saya jawab kalau sebetulnya yang paling tahu sebuah blog sudah siap launching atau belum adalah pemiliknya sendiri. Maksud saya, pemilik bloglah yang paling paham apakah blognya sudah sesuai harapan atau belum. Sedang orang lain biasanya berkomentar berdasar minat, pengetahuan, dan seleranya sendiri.

Tapi tak adakah hal yang perlu diperhatikan sebelum anda melaunching blog agar sukses spektakuler? Kalau ada kira-kira apa saja?

Mungkin sebelumnya ada yang bertanya “kenapa blog perlu di-launching? Toh tanpa launching pun, blog kita sudah beredar di blogosphere.”

Benar sekali. Tapi kalau kita menyimak perjalanan para blogger di negeri lain, launching blog bisa dijadikan pemicu start awal yang bagus bagi sebuah blog. Harapannya, dengan di-launching banyak orang yang tahu. Sehingga blog anda langsung banyak yang mengakses.

Di samping itu, launching berguna untuk menciptakan momentum awal blogging. Tentu momentum seperti apa yang anda inginkan berkait dengan tujuan anda blogging. Kalau misalnya anda blogging for business misalnya, harapannya paling tidak produk anda semakin dikenal. Syukur-syukur sekaligus bisa langsung laku keras. Nah itulah mengapa kita perlu launching.

Kira-kira apa saja yang perlu diperhatikan sebelum launching blog?

Perencanaan. Perencanaan meliputi kesiapan teknis dan non-teknis blog anda. Non teknis misalnya tujuan anda blogging untuk apa, lingkup bahasan blog anda apa saja, target pembaca blog anda siapa dan lainnya. Sedang kesiapan teknis seperti tak adanya gangguan untuk blog anda, pemilihan nama blog yang tepat, dan lainnya.
Content. Content adalah nyawa blog anda. Pengunjung datang karena ingin membaca isi blog anda. Kalau anda bisa membuat content blog yang menghisap dan membuat ketagihan, pengunjung akan berkali-kali datang ke blog anda. Tentukan juga jadwal posting yang jelas. Misalnya setiap 2-3 hari sekali. Atau kalau merasa terlalu berat, bisa dimulai dengan setiap minggu sekali.
Desain. Desain blog yang menarik berperan juga untuk kesuksesan blog anda. Tampilan blog selayaknya juga menggambarkan konsep blog anda. Kalau memang ingin membuat blog yang dibuat gaul, serius, atau kesan apapun yang ingin anda sampaikan, sampaikan itu juga lewat desain blog anda.
Link. Posting-posting awal anda selayaknya memiliki link internal dan eksternal. Link internal maksudnya yang mengarah ke dalam blog anda sendiri, sedang link eksternal mengarah ke blog lain. Saat membuat link, perhatikan juga anchor teks-nya. Isi dengan target kata kunci anda. Contoh: Rumusan Rahasia Blogging.
Promosi. Yang termudah misalnya dengan meletakkan alamat blog anda di setiap signature email. Jadi setelah nama anda, cantumkan alamat blog anda. Jadi setiap anda berkirim email, secara tak langsung ikut mempromosikan blog anda. Untuk tahap awal, anda bisa kirim email ke orang-orang yang anda kenal. Mintalah mereka untuk berkunjung ke blog anda, serta jangan lupa mintalah tanggapan mereka.
Iklan. Jika memang ada anggaran beriklan, boleh saja anda beriklan. Namun jika tak ada, hal ini bisa anda abaikan. Cukup berkonsentrasi sajalah pada jalur promosi gratis.

Yang penting dipahami mengelola blog itu membutuhkan kesabaran. Terutama saat awal-awal blogging. Satu sampai tiga bulan pertama dibutuhkan kesabaran ekstra. Aliran traffic biasanya masih seret. Karena itu jangan berharap berlebihan blog anda bisa mengalirkan penghasilan besar di saat-saat awal.

Yang penting saat awal adalah meneguhkan pondasi blogging anda. Yaitu bagaimana anda menyajikan konten berkualitas sesuai jadwal yang ditetapkan dan memperkokoh positioning blog anda. Tentang positioning ini coba di baca di blog Mas Arief.

Ada satu langkah lagi yang bisa mengurangi mampetnya aliran traffic yaitu dengan bergabung dengan perkumpulan blog. Dengan begitu, minimal blog anda memiliki rekan-rekan blogger yang siap mengunjungi anda. Dengan begitu perlahan traffic dan brand blog anda akan terangkat.

Itulah kenapa misalnya seorang seperti Ahmadun Yosi Herfanda dan Jonru bisa menjadi penyair dan penulis hebat. Karena mereka mencintai yang dilakukannya.
Lakukan apa yang anda cintai. Makin anda lakukan, makin bersemangat dan nikmat menjalaninya.
Berorientasi pada tujuan. Orang-orang sukses selalu berorientasi pada tujuan. Tahu mengapa harus melakukan sesuatu. Dan memfokuskan usahanya untuk mencapai tujuan itu.
Ketahui dimana anda sekarang dan kemana akan melangkah, dan tahu bagaimana cara mencapainya. Selanjutnya just ACTION!
Berkumpul di lingkungan orang sukses. Nasihat lama mengatakan kalau ingin harum berkumpullah dengan penjual minyak wangi. Berkumpul di lingkungan yang sesuai, bisa mendorong anda mencapai apa yang anda inginkan.
Percaya diri. Orang-orang sukses memiliki kepercayaan diri. Tanpa ragu mereka akan mengatakan kepada orang di sekelilngnya mengenai tujuan-tujuannya. Mereka mengatakan apa saja yang akan mereka lakukan dan hasilkan.
Jangan ragu, percayalah pada diri anda. Anda bisa!
Bekerja keras dan cerdas. Sekalipun berbisnis internet yang tiap harinya hanya menghadap komputer, namun jangan dikira kita tak perlu kerja keras dan cerdas. Tanpa bermaksud apa-apa, sekalipun saya bisa saja tak bekerja apapun sepanjang waktu, namun tiap harinya saya tetap mengalokasikan waktu bekerja. Sekalipun ada beberapa karyawan yang membantu, saya tetap ACTION. Saya tak keberatan bangun tengah malam sekalipun untuk mengecek email, blog, dan situs web.
Ya karena saya menyukainya. Saya mencintai apa yang saya lakukan. Saya cinta internet marketing.

Keberhasilan, kesuksesan atau apapun namanya adalah sebuah proses. Proses yang tak datang hanya dengan sekali ucap “simsalabim” maka berubahlah segalanya. Sukses adalah buah dari komitmen dan proses terus menerus untuk mencapai sebuah tujuan. Seperti besi yang ditempa dalam api, sampai akhirnya menjadi pisau atau benda lain yang lebih berguna.

Kesetiaan menjalani proses itulah kuncinya. Meski klise, namun sampai sekarang terus terbukti sangat telak terhadap hasil akhir yang ingin kita capai.

Dalam hidup segala sesuatunya memang tak selalu berjalan sempurna. Namun bukan berarti kita harus terdiam dan menyerah berpangku tangan pada nasib.

Here in the USA, at least, it seems to be increasingly popular to find some way to earn a living from the comfort of your own home. People - especially moms - are looking for ways to stay home with their kids and yet contribute to the family income. They prowl the internet at night or on their lunch breaks, looking for just the right opportunity that fits their interests and family. Let me suggest their search may be too narrow.

More often than not, they are looking at and for some variation of internet marketing. But they don’t have a clue how to market, the search engines offer literally millions of choices, and scams and rip-off artists are more common than sand fleas on the beach. There are a lot of other ways to earn an income from home. Lets explore a few, and combine them with some internet activity. The synergy just might surprise you!

The first and most obvious choice would be to open your home to day-care. After all, you are there with your own kids, so you might as well add a few, right? (Stop that laughing!) Depending on your constitution, family size and make-up, home and yard size, etc., this could be just the thing for you. To run it like a business involves a whole lot more than feeding the kids and keeping them from playing in the street, but it works for many and it may work for you. If you have older kids, involve them in the care of the younger ones as well as some of the business aspects. Think of it as on-the-job training in home and business management. It is invaluable training they cannot get elsewhere.

If you like to cook, you might look into something involving cooking or baking. There are candy-making businesses, catering businesses, cake decorating businesses, etc. Some people supply home-baked goodies to local convenience stores, truck stops, sandwich shops and places like that. Of course they have to go through the permit process, but that is normal for starting up a business. Some people create and bake treats for dogs and cats and sell them to pet stores. These are also businesses that can involve your older children. They can help with preparation and clean-up. Teenagers can also learn bookkeeping and once they get their drivers license can make deliveries if necessary.

There are countless products that can be marketed through home parties. It’s not just for Avon and Tupperware anymore. Home furnishings and decorations, candles, rubber stamps, jewelry, children’s toys and clothing, and who knows what I haven’t of are all options. This is popular with moms who are home all day with kids and feel the need to get out and have a conversation with another adult. They schedule evening parties in other people’s homes. Their husbands are home with the kids, and they are able to socialize and make money at the same time. For many moms this is just ideal.

Some people are natural-born “cleanies.” They have figured out that other people do not like to clean houses and offices and are not much good at it either. So they come to the rescue - for a price. Cleaning services do involve leaving your home, which is what some people don’t want to do, but if you have your own business, you are the boss and to some extent can set your own hours. One parent can work day hours and one parent can work night hours. If you have teenagers, again you can involve them in the business, both in labor and paperwork.

Some people are naturally organized and can sell their skill to those who are “challenged.” You would again have to leave your home, but you can set appointments for while your kids are in school and not make appointments on days when they have after-school activities that you quit work so you could attend. This too can be a great business for the right person to run from their home.

You could also turn your home into your business by converting part of it to a bed-and-breakfast. This would require permits and a check with zoning laws and all that. To succeed, you would also have to have the gift of hospitality as well as many of the skills necessary for the other businesses mentioned above. But if you like meeting new people and would enjoy opening up your home - for a price - then maybe you should look into it.

There are many, many other options including telecommuting, letter writing, teaching sign language to moms and babies, proof-reading, website and graphics design, greeting card design and verse writing, and on and on and on!

Now what about that internet part? Many businesses - even small local ones - find they do better if they have a website. Websites can be put up and hosted for surprisingly little money. Some internet companies offer products that can be sold to customers you acquired through some of the above-mentioned businesses. For instance, if you use a particular “green” cleaning product, maybe your daycare parents or the people who work in the offices you clean would be interested. Market your business on your website and market your website to your customers. Print and offer coupons. Put your website on the traffic exchanges. There are even ones where you can earn while you surf! Talk about easy money - and you are earning exposure for your site, too!

An opportunity should never be bought into. By definition, an opportunity is something that people will never sell you. From franchises to swamp land in Florida, to patents and inventions, it makes no difference. Theres nothing wrong with any of the things mentioned, however if somebody is trying to sell you these things, then they are not opportunities by definition.

An opportunity is an advantage that you can see that others cannot. I dont care about the dictionary definition, this is the real world definition. Opportunities are free. They dont cost money to observe. Of course I dont mean they wont cost you money, you may need some money to act on it. But if you are paying money so somebody can sell it to you (a sales commission) You should run for the hills.

So, getting back to my definition of an opportunity.

"Its an advantage that you can see that others cannot"

So what that means is that you have vision while others do not. We are awash with money around us. Money or "value" is everywhere. As "Hayden Muller" says, "it permeates our lives like oxygen" The difficulty is not finding opportunity. It is literally everywhere all the time. We are suffering from snow blindness if we still work for a living when such abundance is around us in our every day lives.

The difficulty is not money either. Having access to a few hundred dollars is all you need to take advantage of a million daily opportunities that present themselves in our daily lives. Anyone with some determination can find that much.

No, the real difficulty is knowledge, or education. Its what seperates action from indifference. The question becomes, "so what?" "so what if I took this opportunity and made a few dollars, what next?" You see, without education, opportunities are meaningless. They lead now-where because we lack vision. Don't worry, I lacked plenty of vision myself.

Today you could drop me out of the sky into any free city on the Planet with nothing but the shirt on my back and I would be living well within 3 months and be financially secure within 2-4 years. I know I can do that because my vision tells me I easily could.

Put me in the middle of New York, I would immediately find markets to deal in. Even before I found a place to sleep, I would begin learning about what free markets are available and what they most want and need. I would quickly establish contacts with suppliers and retailers to become the "middle man" my favourite place to be.

Within a week, I would have a few hundred dollars saved. I would use those funds and pyramid my purchases for faster and faster turn over until I had enough to buy small assets that are in high demand. Cars, boats, anything that was being sold that I could find really cheaply. My charm and good looks would make sure I got the best deals and sold them for the highest price (winks)

Charm and good looks aside, the one thing you need is a clarion plan. A master plan that gets you from A to B

Making money with no money is easy and rudimentry. Its the opportunities you spot that makes the real difference. But really its the propensity to take action that delivers the results. Before you can take that action, you need to know where you are going.

Your situation is alot better then the scenario I presented above. You live in a place where you know. You have intimate knowledge of the markets available already present. You have skills and have contacts already that can be of use.

Get a quick short education and go to it. Your first million is not as difficult as you may imagine.

Here are the lessons that I have learned. I consider that they are the real secrets of making money online.

First, start with a niche market. I know this is different from how people do things in the real world, but in cyber space this is the best place to start. The easiest way is to pick on a group of people just like you. People with whom you share a problem.

Second, find a product that solves their problem. There are millions of them out there. I show my students how to find them on my free diploma course.

Third, build a really simple, one page web site. Your site only needs to offer a product that solves a problem to the people with the problem.

Fourth, drive traffic to that web site.

Imagine my excitement when, by simply applying this formula, I started receiving e-mails saying: “Congratulations, you just made a sale!”

The excitement grew when I went to my online bank account and saw the money sitting there, right under my name.

And the excitement reached fever pitch when the ‘congratulations’ e-mails started coming in ever-increasing numbers.

WHAT IS ADSENSE AND HOW CAN I MAKE MONEY FROM IT?

Before looking at AdSense, I feel that it is necessary to give a brief description of pay per click advertising. The biggest and most powerful ppc system is called Google AdWords.

AdWords

You will have seen AdWords in action before. They are those little text ads that appear down the right hand side of Google’s search results. They are an amazingly powerful method of advertising. The ads you see are 100% related to the keywords that you type into a search. This means, that as an AdWords advertiser you are capable of displaying your ads in front of an audience that is already interested in your products or services. Never before have businesses been able to conduct their advertising in such a highly targeted manner.

If your internet company rented holiday properties in Spain for example, you could set up your AdWords ads to appear ONLY when someone typed in keywords like “Spanish, Spain, holiday, rental, villas, apartments, properties etc.”

Of course, this all comes at a price. As an advertiser, you have to pay Google every time somebody clicks on one of your ads. With their follow up program AdSense, Google created an opportunity for everybody to get a share in this lucrative market.

AdSense is an extension of the AdWords program that allows any website owner to place AdWords ads on their site. However, the difference in this system lies in the fact that the ads displayed come not from search phrases, but from the content of your site.

As an AdSense user, Google gives you a piece of JavaScript that has your unique id embedded within it. This enables them to track the performance of the ads on your site. You simply paste this code into the html of your website.

Then, when someone views your site, the JavaScript automatically fetches ads from the Google server and places them on your page. Google does this with its advanced content recognition technology. This technology is so clever, that it knows which country you are viewing a site from. It then places country specific ads accordingly. For example, if you had a site about fly-fishing, people viewing your site in Australia would see ads for Australian fishing tackle retailers, and in the USA people would see ads for American retailers.

When someone clicks on one of your ads, Google charges the advertiser. Google then takes a cut of the money and gives the rest to you. Although Google won’t disclose any details about their payout ratio, it is rumored that they take 32% and you get 68%.

Before you start thinking: why don’t I just click on my ads all day long and make loads of money? Google has thought of this and takes click fraud very seriously. They want their advertising system to work. They can tell if you have been committing click fraud and will bar you from AdSense FOR EVER!

Making serious money

99% of AdSense users make next to nothing. They stick the code onto their website and sit back. When the money doesn’t appear they think the system is useless. This is good for us, because those in the know can make extraordinary amounts of legitimate, Google approved money.

• The key lies in finding a niche market and creating a content rich, topical site within this market. You then fill the content of your site with high paying keywords.

• Next, through good search engine optimization and advanced inbound linking strategies, you build a high and constant flow of traffic to your site.

• Then, only after you have taken steps one and two, do you place the AdSense code into your site. You add the JavaScript whilst employing certain techniques that make the ads look more attractive. This will encourage more of your website’s visitors to click on the ads.

In the begining it's a tentative situation. Your first few deals are small potatoes. To make money with no investment is not entirley accurate. Everyone has access to something. Some small amount that will be allocated for wealth building. I think back to when I was starting from scratch and at the time my cynical attitude made it painful, but looking back I remember the experience fondly.

It's challenging to make money with no investment capital but when you are starting from scratch you have nothing to lose. With your back to the wall, you can go forward confidently in the knowledge that you literally have little to lose.

Curiously, all great wealth once began from scratch. To make money with no investment capital is exactly the situation you need to be in if you want to succeed and get that first million under your belt.

You see, it's not how much you started with that counts. It's not how much you have made that counts. What matters is the system. HOW you do it. If that is based on sound principles then you will never fear poverty again.

I could make money with no investment capital if you dropped me in any free City on the planet. I guarantee you within a few months I'd be living well (providing I spoke the language).

Starting from scratch, the first thing I would do is find a market. No money, but I have my self. I can offer a service. As soon as I make a few hundred dollars saved, I would begin applying the principles of opportunity investment. I would trade up and up until I had borrowing capacity.

The bottom line is...when it comes to info-products, size doesn't necessarily matter! Quality does! You could make just as much money with a 15-page book as you could with a 100-page one. In fact, you can make more with the former. I'll show you how shortly.

Profit potential aside, there are many other great reasons to create these little ebooks...

They are very easy to put together; it doesn't require much work.

They can be completed within a few weeks, a few days, and sometimes even a few hours!

They are really not that difficult or time consuming to market.

They are especially great for new marketers (with little or no experience) and are also easy profit generators for seasoned marketers. And...

Most importantly, they allow you to spread your risk.

You see, it all boils down to time and money i.e. time management and positive cash flow.

Time is a very precious commodity, especially if you still have a 9 to 5 job to deal with. And, we already know that all of our projects will not be home runs. In fact, there's a good chance that a few of them will be complete flops. That's the reality most of us have to deal with.

So, if you invest a lot of time and energy into creating a monster ebook that turns out to be a dud, you would have lost all the time and energy you put into that project, with nothing to show for it.

On the other hand, if you had spent only a couple of weeks to create a much shorter ebook which also turned out to be a dud, you could quickly pull that one out and replace it with another short one. Your risks are dramatically reduced and your chances of putting out a winner is increased!

It's better to create 10 little ebooks per year and have 2 of them flop (which means 8 of them are bringing in the cash!) than to only create one or two big ebooks in that same year and risk having them both flop. There is also a much better chance that 1 of your products will be a hot seller if you have 10 of them out there, instead of just one or two.

Now, let's look at profit potential...

If each one of these 8 books bring in $1000 per month for you, the profits can add up quickly. If your goal is to pull in $100,000 in the coming year, you have a much better chance of getting there with 8 to 10 small ebooks bringing in $1000 per month each, instead of relying on just one big ebook alone to pull in the entire $100,000.

And...even if you pull in just a few hundred per month from each of the 8 books, that's still a heck of a lot better than what most people are making online.

Here are a few more ways you can ensure that you profit from these short ebooks, well into the future...

You can offer each one as a backend (followup) product for the other.

You can bundle them up later and sell them as a brand new package, with a different price tag.

You can use some of them (especially if they don't sell too well on their own) as bonuses for your other products, to increase the perceived value of the 'package.'

You can also use some of them purely as list builders. (Give them away for free, swap them with other marketers, or whatever. The fact that it only took you a week or two to create them offers you a lot more options and flexibility.)

And, if you're still passionate about creating that monster ebook, why not break it up into smaller projects and start selling each one as they get completed?

For example, if you want to create the "complete" 'online marketing' guide, you could start by creating a small ebook on just 'sales copy writing' and start selling it. Then, create another on 'product development' and get that one out as well. And so on...

In the end, you can bundle them up together, or combine them into one mega book and sell it. Your time is much better spent that way. And...you also have some cash coming in while you work on your projects.

Many of us continue to chase after that one million dollar idea and miss many of the smaller $100,000 projects along the way.

These smaller products are much easier to create, are much easier to roll out, don't require a large investment of your time, energy or money, and they greatly reduce your risks.

They are also probably the fastest way to get your name out there and build credibility for yourself and your business. You can really do some serious damage with these mini ebooks, as long as you provide valuable information in them.

How to Remove Blackheads

The bane of most teenagers existence is pimples. But they may also have another skin problem that will stay with them past the hormonal years, and that's blackheads. These are something that can follow a person for much of their life, because they are related to two common factors of everyday life: oil production in your skin, and dead skin cells.

Contrary to popular belief, blackheads are not the result of dirt accumulating in overly deep pores. The "black" part arises from a combination of dead skin cells and sebum, or oil, although it is actually the skin particles that cause the color.

Unlike pimples, which can be a bacterial infection that turns the skin red and fills a pocket with pus, blackheads are flat spots that have filled with the cells that our skin sheds on a daily basis, and oil from the sebaceous glands. But people will treat them the same as pimples and try to squeeze or pop them to remove the unsightly mark. This is the last thing you should do, as it irritates the skin, and can start an infection under the plug of dirt and oil.

Actual removal of blackheads can be done by a dermatologist who uses a small cylindrical instrument that has a tiny opening that goes over the blackhead. It's pressed on the spot for a few seconds, and the resulting pressure around the edges will help dislodge the plug in the pore.

Prevention is they key to reducing the incidence of blackheads, as some people who have particularly active sebaceous glands, especially on the forehead or along the nose and chin, may have blackheads most of their lives.

While a good soap will help remove the oils on your skin, it doesn't get rid of the dead skin cells. A cleanser with salicylic acid will not only clean surface oil, but will get rid of skin debris that is waiting to clog up more pores. Alpha-hydroxi acid formulas will help to gently exfoliate the dead skin cells so there is less shedding skin left on the surface to sink down into pores.

Glycolic peels are very useful, in that they not only remove dead skin cells, but help loosen and lift some of the clogged material in pores. It may take five or six peels, to see visible results. Generally speaking, a home program of salicylic acid cleansers and glycolic peels is the key to reducing the number of blackheads that you get.

The only time you should not use the peels, is if you are using a topical retinoid, which loosens the blackheads, while speeding up the rate at which dead skin cells are sloughed off. Both of these at once, can cause skin irritation.

Parents have a significant influence over the situation. Consequently most of the effort will have to come from the parents. Try these tips for getting kids to eat healthier.

#1 Kids listen to what you do not what you say.

Parents must be an example to their children. Children watch you even when you don’t know they are. If you are sitting in front of the TV with a bowl of ice cream and a bag of chips you are sending the wrong message to them. They don’t know you have PMS or you had a hard day or even you’ve been good on your diet for a month and this isn’t so bad. They are seeing lounge and eat. Nothing more or less. Make a salad in the middle of the day and offer them some. Have a piece of fruit as you go out the door and give them permission to go grab themselves a piece to take with them. This changes the message to snack and snack healthy.

#2 Encourage healthier eating habits by cooking healthier meals. You don’t have to announce “ we are all going to eat healthier so we can loose weight”. Cook a healthier recipe that you think your family will like. When they complain or ask “what’s this”, simply tell them you thought you’d try a new recipe. Don’t be disappointed or discouraged if they won’t eat it, or don’t like it. Simply offer them a peanut butter and jelly sandwich in its place. Most importantly do not go back a cook again trying to give them what they want. When given a choice they will most likely choose their “regular” less healthy meal.

#3 Implement house rules that require healthy eating. If you have a child that loves juice tell them they can only have juice if they drink and equivalent amount of water first. If you have a child that’s use to grabbing a handful of cookies when they get home. Instead of taking the cookies away , which is sure to give you a “health witch” title, Simply state “you can have cookies, after you eat a piece of fresh fruit first”. This will not only increase the amount of healthy foods and drink they eat, but also fill them with whole foods which leaves less room for junk.

#4) Be like your mother.

Remember when you had to eat all your vegetables? Offer (healthier) desserts after dinner to those that eat their vegetable. You may be in a situation of one child having dessert and the other not, however that’s great learning experience for everyone, You get what you earn. Life lesson at the dinner table. And no it’s not unfair. Kids understand immediate reward/punishment better than speeches. Keep the talking to a minimum, state the rule then stick to it.

#5) Be firm and be consistent.

Kids will push to test your limit. When you decide to implement a healthy habit stick to it. No matter how much a kid cries, whines, or sneaks (and they will). Stay firm that this is the rule. Discuss the rule with you’re your spouse so you can have a united front. If your children are use to free range in the kitchen, and eating whatever they want implementing all these tips at once will be to drastic a change for them. Try implementing one rule a week or even every two week. Remember health eating is a process and slow and steady wins the race. Not only will the new “house rules” be a change for your children but it will be a change for you as well, requiring more monitoring and more planning (making healthy snacks and ingredients always available).

The meaning of baby names of irish origin lies hundreds of years back in the Irish gaelic language of the ancient Celts who migrated from Central Europe before the foundation of the Roman Empire.

The Celts Dominant

Those Celts who came to Britain, France and Ireland were dominant for a long period. With the spread of the Roman Empire, the Celts gradually were pushed back into North Western France (modern Brittany with its distinct Breton language), Western Britain (Cornwall and Wales), Northern Britain (Isle of Man and Scotland), and the island of Ireland which was never conquered by the Romans.

As a result of Ireland's separate development from Roman influence, the gaelic language and way of life was much less diluted than in Scotland or Wales. Again the influence of the Anglo-Normans and later the English was less in Ireland because of the difficulty of establishing control in the country other than a few coastal towns such as Dublin.

The English kings' governor sat in Dublin Castle issuing edicts against native Irish habits in dress, custom and language, only to have them ignored in about 80% of the country with the exception of the areas around Dublin called The Pale where the English army held sway.

Gradual English Control

This situation continued for hundreds of years until the English asserted an uneasy control at the end of the 17th century with the defeat of James 11 at the Battle of the Boyne by William of Orange (the Dutch Protestant prince who was offered the English throne by Parliament)in 1690.

So the first name origins of Irish Christian names and surnames lie overwhelmingly in this gaelic Celtic culture which was totally dominant until the end of the 19th century. Only at this point do we see English culture making inroads in language, games and of course in first name origins.

In fact, this was not voluntary as primary schools were established in all the major towns from the 1830's onwards where English was the only language of instruction and Irish gaelic was forbidden.First name origins of Celtic descent gradually declined and English baby names became popular for the first time.

Irish Revival

By the end of the 19th century, Irish was in crisis and English totally dominant in all the commercial, legal and cultural spheres of Irish life. At this time organisations to stem the English tide were established such as the Gaelic Athletic Association(to foster the games of hurling and gaelic football), and the Gaelic League to prevent the decline of the Irish language.

This brings us up to the present where the meaning of baby names of most first names in Ireland are English in origin or anglicisations of native Irish names.This bilingual melange will continue. It remains to be seen whether first name origins of Irish gaelic ancestry will increase as they have been doing, or whether the sea of Anglo-American influence will predominate.

Some had parents, grandparents or other relatives to lean on. For others, it may have been a rabbi or pastor. We had the fortunate experience of someone supporting us in just the right way at just the right time.

As fortunate as we have been to have had at least one person to influence us in our lives, I wonder what influence we have had on other people. Are we conscious of how we relate to others and what affect our interactions have had on the other person? Or is most of our focus on how the other person is affecting us?

Have you ever wondered why people react to you in a less than favorable way? Your awareness of their behavior towards you is a possible clue about what influence you may have on those other people. Take children, for instance; they are usually a good indicator of how things affect them. Picture children in a grocery store at meal time with a stressed out parent rushing them through the aisles. THEY get cranky and stressed out. They start bothering a brother or sister. Or they may start pulling things off the nearby shelves. The more irritated the parent becomes, the more wound up the child becomes. This ends in the child crying, the parent yelling and possibly other shoppers scurrying for cover. Worse yet, if you are the one behind this frazzled group at the register, you may carry some of their stress home with YOU.

Influence, defined by Webster as “a power indirectly or intangibly affecting a person or course of action…an effect or a change produced by such power”, is either positive or negative. Our actions determine what type of influence we have on other people.

It is my hope that we become more aware of the influence we have on those around us. If we want the Generation Y children to show respect, appreciation and courtesy, we have to influence their behaviors as often as we can by making sure our interactions are as positive and supportive as they can be.

"We all take different paths in life, but no matter where we go, we take a little of each other everywhere.” Gandhi said, “We have to be the change we seek in the world”. This means we need to act in a way that will influence others to behave differently-at least around us. In his book, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, Stephen Covey talks about the Circles of Concern and of Influence. The Circle of Concern is where negative minded people concentrate their energy: the issues they are concerned about most are those they have no control over. The Circle of Influence is the area in which proactive people expend the most energy; they concentrate on changing things they can do something about.

When we operate from the Circle of Concern, we become consumed by situations and circumstances around us that we have no control over. Our thoughts and actions reflect the negative energy with which we surround ourselves. Think back to the last time someone else was driving in rush hour traffic and allowed their frustrations to leak over into their behavior: cursing, weaving in and out of traffic, following too close to prevent their young child in the back seat from harm should conditions change quickly. If you show mild concern, they are quick to defend, blame and justify their actions. Many times, it only takes one grumbler to start a chorus of grumbles.

In the Circle of Influence, we see problems as involving our own behavior, other’s behavior or problems we can do nothing about. We can choose to change our own behavior or habits, change how we deal with others’ behavior using methods of influence, or simply accept that problems exist that we cannot do anything about (like changing your past). We choose to be proactive and influence our circumstances by adjusting our habits. We accept others for whom they are and adjust our response to them. We accept that there are things that we can never change, and accept that they will exist in spite of us.

Choosing to be proactive is choosing to operate from your value system. If you value understanding, you will proactively seek to understand. You will gain insight by asking questions until you are clear about what was said, what is required, what needs someone has. You will create a comfortable place from which they can ask for help or accept guidance. You will avoid placing blame and showing anger. The focus will be on gaining insight from the interaction, not on proving someone right or wrong.

I consider myself among the fortunate people; the ones that had a positive influence at some point in their lives to guide and support them. I believe everyone should have that experience at least once in their lives.

Children spend at least 13 to 30 hours a week gaming. Most computer games are violent and aggressive and do little to inculcate moral values. Studies indicate that gaming results in aggressiveness and violent responses in children. And, children are less concerned and helpful towards their peers and families. They become socially stunted.

The onus of minimizing the effects and ensuring that children receive a rounded upbringing falls on parents. It is important to introduce character building activities and to censor games, ensuring suitability.

• Study guidelines established by the Entertainment Software Board. They indicate suitability for different age groups. Read the content label which will summarize the game, this will serve as an appropriateness guideline.

• Know your child. If you find any signs of being unsettled withdraw games that cause this change in behavior. Introduce games that titillate the imagination and make use of the mind. Avoid violence and aggression.

• Rent a game and play it yourself. First hand knowledge will serve you well.

• Communicate with other parents. You will glean the trends, know the popularity.

• Interact with your child at all levels.

• Choose games that are fun and have a degree of effective learning.

• Introduce games that require two or more players—this fosters social interaction.

• Playing games should be a privilege not a right. Emphasize that parental approval is a must.

• Use games to maximize your child’s interests. If the child is mechanical minded purchase games that encourage this talent.

• Choose games that require decisions and strategies. Games should be more than shoot, blow up, destroy, and kill. Avoid killer machine games.
